01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

For a substantial lunch, the namesake Trio Bento is an obvious choice. It brings together fried prawns, fried fish and yakiniku on one plate, with miso soup on the side. Visitors have also described the bento as including fried dishes, shumai and salad, making it a good option when you want a mix of foods centred on fried fare. The menu offers plenty of set meals, too: karaage and loin pork cutlet are each 850 yen, while the hamburger steak is 900 yen. All are listed with miso soup. If you can’t decide between fried food and a hamburger steak, consider the set meal combining fried prawns and hamburger steak.

For a Western-style meal, there are omurice, pilaf and beef curry. One diner remarked that the omurice was generously portioned, making it a tempting pick when you’re hungry. Alongside beef curry, the menu lists versions topped with hamburger steak, chicken cutlet or fried prawns.

There’s also the pleasure of lingering over something after lunch. One visitor paired a banana sundae with ice cream and coffee, and wrote that although the portion was modest, they enjoyed the taste. Coffee is listed at 200 yen as a drink with a meal; melon soda and tea are also available. Settling in for a coffee after eating feels right at home here.

In Karasumacho, Imadegawa, Trio has a broad menu that runs from full meals to coffee breaks. Visitors’ accounts recall its well-worn Showa-era atmosphere, as well as the chance to enjoy coffee after a meal. Some have mentioned being able to smoke inside, so check ahead if smoke might be a concern.
